ROAD TRAFFIC LAW FEES
Clear Pricing for Motoring Offences
We provide clear advice on legal fees before you decide whether to instruct us.
Road traffic cases vary depending on the allegation, the evidence, your intended plea and whether the matter can be dealt with at a single hearing or requires further preparation.
Our Fees
For straightforward road traffic matters involving a single hearing, our fees will usually range from:
£1,000 to £2,500 + VAT
We’ll confirm the likely fee once we understand the charge, the evidence and the work required.
VAT and Disbursements
VAT is charged at the prevailing rate, currently 20%, where applicable.
Disbursements are expenses payable to third parties, such as barristers, experts, interpreters or court-related costs. We’ll explain these before they are incurred.
Typical Cost Range
| Type of Matter | Estimated Fee | What This Usually Covers |
|---|---|---|
| Straightforward guilty plea | £1,000 - £1,500 + VAT | Advice, preparation, mitigation and representation at one hearing. |
| Single hearing with more preparation | £1,500 - £2,500 + VAT | Review of evidence, advice on plea, preparation and representation at one hearing. |
| Contested or trial matter | Estimate provided after review | Fees depend on the complexity, evidence, number of witnesses and length of hearing. |
| Exceptional hardship or special reasons argument | Estimate provided after review | Preparation of evidence, advice, case strategy and representation at hearing. |
These figures are a guide only. We’ll provide a clearer estimate once we have reviewed the details of your case.
